In November 2001 Christies in London held the auction RUSSIAN PAINTINGS AND WORKS OF ART, which included the work Portrait of E N Lvova by Karl Pavlovich Briullov. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 8,225.00 (€ 13,088.57), 37% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Karl Pavlovich Briullov achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Study for 'The Return of Pope Pius IX to Rome from Basillica Santa Maria Maggiore' in November 2005 with an auction result of GBP 433,600.00 (€ 637,013.20).

Im November 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion RUSSIAN PAINTINGS AND WORKS OF ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of E N Lvova von Karl Pavlovich Briullov zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 8.225,00 (€ 13.088,57) und damit 37% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Karl Pavlovich Briullov erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Study for 'The Return of Pope Pius IX to Rome from Basillica Santa Maria Maggiore' im November 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 433.600,00 (€ 637.013,20).
