Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Greek lying on a rock and a study of a head by Karl Pavlovich Briullov was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2003. The price achieved of USD 11,352.50 (€ 9,244.71) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Karl Pavlovich Briullov achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Study for 'The Return of Pope Pius IX to Rome from Basillica Santa Maria Maggiore' in November 2005 with an auction result of GBP 433,600.00 (€ 637,013.20).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 11.352,50 (€ 9.244,71) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden.
