Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Toto hakkei (Eight views of the Eastern Capital) by Katsukawa Shunko was auctioned at Christies in New York in September last year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 3,276.00 (€ 3,348.67). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Katsukawa Shunko - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Unknown, which sold at auction in March 2003 for USD 10,157.50 (€ 9,318.81).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Toto hakkei (Eight views of the Eastern Capital) von Katsukawa Shunko kam im September letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 3.276,00 (€ 3.348,67) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Katsukawa Shunko mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Unknown beobachtet, die im März 2003 für USD 10.157,50 (€ 9.318,81) versteigert wurde.
