Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2000 Christies in New York held the auction JAPANESE AND KOREAN ART, which included the work Kisokaido ono no bakufu (Ono waterfall on the Kisokaido), from the series Shokoku taki meguri (A journey to the waterfalls of all the provinces) by Katsushika Hokusai. The price achieved of USD 17,625.00 (€ 19,944.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Katsushika Hokusai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Kanagawa oki nami ura (Under the well of the Great Wave off Kanagawa) [“Great Wave”|AID1099960] in March this year with an auction result of USD 2,760,000.00 (€ 2,538,631.35).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2000 führte Christies in New York die Auktion JAPANESE AND KOREAN ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit Kisokaido ono no bakufu (Ono waterfall on the Kisokaido), from the series Shokoku taki meguri (A journey to the waterfalls of all the provinces) von Katsushika Hokusai zur Versteigerung kam. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Kanagawa oki nami ura (Under the well of the Great Wave off Kanagawa) [“Great Wave”|AID1099960] im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.760.000,00 (€ 2.538.631,35).
