This artwork by Katsushika Hokusai achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in September 2021. In the Important Japanese Art auction, the work Ono No Takamura (Poem By Sangi Takamura) sold for USD 81,250.00 (€ 70,182.26) - well above the upper estimate of USD 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Katsushika Hokusai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Kanagawa oki nami ura (Under the well of the Great Wave off Kanagawa) [“Great Wave”|AID1099960] in March this year with an auction result of USD 2,760,000.00 (€ 2,538,631.35).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Katsushika Hokusai erzielte im September 2021 bei Christies einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Important Japanese Art wurde die Arbeit Ono No Takamura (Poem By Sangi Takamura) für USD 81.250,00 (€ 70.182,26) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 35.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Katsushika Hokusai erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Kanagawa oki nami ura (Under the well of the Great Wave off Kanagawa) [“Great Wave”|AID1099960] im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.760.000,00 (€ 2.538.631,35).
