Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2021 Christies held the auction Important Japanese Art, which included the work Otomo No Yakamochi (Poem By Chunagon Yakamochi) by Katsushika Hokusai. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,018.23), 16% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Katsushika Hokusai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Kanagawa oki nami ura (Under the well of the Great Wave off Kanagawa) [“Great Wave”|AID1099960] in March this year with an auction result of USD 2,760,000.00 (€ 2,538,631.35).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2021 führte Christies die Auktion Important Japanese Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Otomo No Yakamochi (Poem By Chunagon Yakamochi) von Katsushika Hokusai zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 7.018,23) und damit 16% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Katsushika Hokusai erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Kanagawa oki nami ura (Under the well of the Great Wave off Kanagawa) [“Great Wave”|AID1099960] im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.760.000,00 (€ 2.538.631,35).
