In December 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Fine Japanese Prints, which included the work Snow at the Shrine Front (Hie Shrine) (Shato no yuki (Hie jinja)) by Kawase Hasui. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,780.00 (€ 4,508.75), 72% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kawase Hasui achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hiraizumi Konjikido (Konjiki Hall At Hiraizumi) in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 75,000.00 (€ 64,783.62).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 72 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Fine Japanese Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit Snow at the Shrine Front (Hie Shrine) (Shato no yuki (Hie jinja)) von Kawase Hasui zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.780,00 (€ 4.508,75) und damit 72% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kawase Hasui erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hiraizumi Konjikido (Konjiki Hall At Hiraizumi) im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 75.000,00 (€ 64.783,62).
