Auction result well in line with expectations
The work La baie d'Antibes by Kees van Dongen was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2008. The price achieved of GBP 301,250.00 (€ 380,790.10) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kees van Dongen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Quiétude in October this year with an auction result of GBP 10,775,000.00 (€ 12,372,693.51).

Die Arbeit La baie d'Antibes von Kees van Dongen kam im Juni 2008 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 301.250,00 (€ 380.790,10) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kees van Dongen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La Quiétude im Oktober diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.775.000,00 (€ 12.372.693,51).
