Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Majestic America: Property from an Important Western Collector, which included the work Winter Drifter by Ken Carlson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,040.00 (€ 4,153.28) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ken Carlson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Prairie Showdown in February 2019 with an auction result of USD 112,500.00 (€ 98,866.33).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Majestic America: Property from an Important Western Collector durch, in der auch die Arbeit Winter Drifter von Ken Carlson zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 5.040,00 (€ 4.153,28) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ken Carlson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Prairie Showdown im Februar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 112.500,00 (€ 98.866,33).
