Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2021 Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Modern Native American ArtFeaturing the Wendy and Les Fisher Collection of Canadian Inuit Sculpture, which included the work A Kenojuak Ashevak, C.C., R.C.A., Felt Tip Drawing by Kenojuak Ashevak. The price achieved of USD 2,040.00 (€ 1,728.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kenojuak Ashevak - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Kenojuak Ashevak Stonecut, "Dream," 1963, which sold at auction in August 2021 for USD 5,355.00 (€ 4,538.14).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2021 führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Modern Native American ArtFeaturing the Wendy and Les Fisher Collection of Canadian Inuit Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Kenojuak Ashevak, C.C., R.C.A., Felt Tip Drawing von Kenojuak Ashevak zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.040,00 (€ 1.728,81) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Kenojuak Ashevak mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Kenojuak Ashevak Stonecut, "Dream," 1963 beobachtet, die im August 2021 für USD 5.355,00 (€ 4.538,14) versteigert wurde.
