Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Souk In Gaza by Laila Shawa was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2020. The price achieved of GBP 12,600.00 (€ 13,991.23) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Laila Shawa - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Children of War, Children of Peace, which sold at auction in February 2007 for USD 38,400.00 (€ 29,024.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Souk In Gaza von Laila Shawa kam im Oktober 2020 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 12.600,00 (€ 13.991,23) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Laila Shawa mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Children of War, Children of Peace beobachtet, die im Februar 2007 für USD 38.400,00 (€ 29.024,94) versteigert wurde.
