In July 2017 Christies in London held the auction Old Masters Day Sale, which included the work Saint Francis with the Animals by Lambert de Hondt. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 23,750.00 (€ 26,501.35), 19% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Lambert de Hondt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work La reddition de la ville d'Utrecht le 30 juin 1672 in December 2004 with an auction result of EUR 162,250.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Masters Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Saint Francis with the Animals von Lambert de Hondt zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 23.750,00 (€ 26.501,35) und damit 19% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lambert de Hondt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit La reddition de la ville d'Utrecht le 30 juin 1672 im Dezember 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 162.250,00.
