Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The mill gates by Laurence Stephen Lowry was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2018. It changed hands for a price of GBP 112,500.00 (€ 127,144.17) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Laurence Stephen Lowry achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Going to the Match in October last year with an auction result of GBP 7,846,500.00 (€ 9,141,085.62).

Die Arbeit The mill gates von Laurence Stephen Lowry kam im Juni 2018 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 112.500,00 (€ 127.144,17) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 80.000,00 – 120.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Laurence Stephen Lowry erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Going to the Match im Oktober letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.846.500,00 (€ 9.141.085,62).
