Auction result well in line with expectations
In October last year Christies in London held the auction Modern British & Irish Art Evening Sale, which included the work Unemployed by Laurence Stephen Lowry. The price achieved of GBP 1,242,000.00 (€ 1,446,916.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000,000.00 – 1,500,000.00. Admittedly, works by Laurence Stephen Lowry have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Going to the Match in October last year with an auction result of GBP 7,846,500.00 (€ 9,141,085.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British & Irish Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Unemployed von Laurence Stephen Lowry zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.242.000,00 (€ 1.446.916,25) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000.000,00 – 1.500.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Laurence Stephen Lowry auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Going to the Match im Oktober letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.846.500,00 (€ 9.141.085,62).
