This artwork by Le Pho achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May last year. In the 20th Century Art Day Sale auction, the work Mère et Enfant (Mother and Child) sold for HKD 1,197,000.00 (€ 142,109.59) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 650,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Le Pho achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Figures in a garden in April last year with an auction result of HKD 17,920,000.00 (€ 2,166,658.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 84 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Le Pho erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Mère et Enfant (Mother and Child) für HKD 1.197.000,00 (€ 142.109,59) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 650.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Le Pho erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Figures in a garden im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 17.920.000,00 (€ 2.166.658,44).
