A top price for Leang Seckon - as previously expected
In May last year Bonhams in Hong Kong held the auction Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art, which included the work World Born by Leang Seckon. The price achieved of HKD 191,250.00 (€ 22,705.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, World Born is the most expensive artwork by Leang Seckon that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Hong Kong die Auktion Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit World Born von Leang Seckon zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 191.250,00 (€ 22.705,48) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist World Born das teuerste Kunstwerk von Leang Seckon, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
