In February last year Christies in New York held the auction Outsider Art, which included the work Woman with Umbrella by Lee Godie. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,750.00 (€ 4,232.00), 58% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Lee Godie; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Mona Lisa and Prince Charming sold at auction in January this year with the realized price of USD 8,190.00 (€ 7,542.83).

Im Februar letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Outsider Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Woman with Umbrella von Lee Godie zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.750,00 (€ 4.232,00) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Lee Godie; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Mona Lisa and Prince Charming im Januar diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 8.190,00 (€ 7.542,83).
