Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2001 a collector was able to acquire the work Rest on the way by Léon Légat for USD 4,700.00 (€ 5,226.29). This price was achieved in the auction Fine Nineteenth Century European Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Léon Légat have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Farmyard In Cernay in June 2006 with an auction result of GBP 22,800.00 (€ 32,991.22).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2001 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Rest on the way von Léon Légat für USD 4.700,00 (€ 5.226,29) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Fine Nineteenth Century European Art bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Léon Légat auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Farmyard In Cernay im Juni 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 22.800,00 (€ 32.991,22).
