Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Léonard Tsuguharu Foujita 藤田嗣治 | Madame Butterfly 蝴蝶夫人 by Foujita was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in May last year. The price achieved of HKD 37,800.00 (€ 4,487.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 30,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Foujita achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La fête d'anniversaire in October 2018 with an auction result of GBP 7,096,250.00 (€ 8,002,380.76).

Die Arbeit Léonard Tsuguharu Foujita 藤田嗣治 | Madame Butterfly 蝴蝶夫人 von Foujita kam im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 37.800,00 (€ 4.487,67) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 30.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Foujita erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La fête d'anniversaire im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.096.250,00 (€ 8.002.380,76).
