In February this year Bonhams held the auction Modern & Contemporary Cuban Art, which included the work Marina by Leopoldo Romañach. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,805.00 (€ 2,645.73), 40% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Leopoldo Romañach have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Llamada a la patria in November 2008 with an auction result of USD 17,500.00 (€ 13,786.04).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 40 % übertroffen
Im Februar diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Modern & Contemporary Cuban Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Marina von Leopoldo Romañach zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.805,00 (€ 2.645,73) und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Leopoldo Romañach auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Llamada a la patria im November 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 17.500,00 (€ 13.786,04).
