Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work √3 by Liu Xiaodong for HKD 1,900,000.00 (€ 209,117.45). This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary Art at POLY in Hong Kong and was even below the estimate range of HKD 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Liu Xiaodong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Disobeying The Rules in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 66,200,000.00 (€ 6,815,482.84).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2017 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit √3 von Liu Xiaodong für HKD 1.900.000,00 (€ 209.117,45) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Art bei POLY in Hong Kong erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 2.000.000,00 – 3.000.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Liu Xiaodong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Disobeying The Rules im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 66.200.000,00 (€ 6.815.482,84).
