Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Landscape by Liu Yantao was sold in the Cultivating Delight: Collecting Chinese Art auction at Christies in Hong Kong in July 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 20,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 25,000.00 (€ 2,739.09) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Liu Yantao - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Landscape, which sold at auction in May 2017 for HKD 64,900.00 (€ 7,410.71).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Landscape von Liu Yantao wurde im Juli 2020 in der Auktion Cultivating Delight: Collecting Chinese Art bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 20.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 25.000,00 (€ 2.739,09) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Liu Yantao mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Landscape beobachtet, die im Mai 2017 für HKD 64.900,00 (€ 7.410,71) versteigert wurde.
