Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2021 VAN HAM in Cologne held the auction From a Universal Collector - The Olbricht Collection, which included the work Self Portrait, No. 2 (The Heretic). by Liza Lou. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 33,540.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Liza Lou have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Vessel in October 2010 with an auction result of GBP 289,250.00 (€ 333,509.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2021 führte VAN HAM in Köln die Auktion From a Universal Collector - The Olbricht Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Self Portrait, No. 2 (The Heretic). von Liza Lou zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 33.540,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Liza Lou auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Vessel im Oktober 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 289.250,00 (€ 333.509,79).
