Here, the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 81,250.00 (€ 72,538.17). Other works by Louis-Ernest Barrias have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of USD 121,500.00 (€ 130,253.00) in May 2000 for the work La jeune fille de Bou-Saada.
