Auction result well in line with expectations
In December this year Bonhams in New York held the auction Impressionist & Modern Art, which included the work Marine by Louis Valtat. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000 - 15,000, the actual price achieved of USD 10,200 (€ 8,915) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis Valtat achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Madame Valtat et son fils in May 2008 with an auction result of EUR 726,650.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Marine von Louis Valtat zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000 – 15.000 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.200 (€ 8.915) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louis Valtat erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Madame Valtat et son fils im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 726.650.
