In December 2013 Phillips in New York held the auction The Betty Lee and Aaron Stern Collection, which included the work Set of eight “Brno” chairs by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,125.00 (€ 5,896.65), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rare and important early "Barcelona" chair in December 2006 with an auction result of USD 100,800.00 (€ 76,381.00).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2013 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion The Betty Lee and Aaron Stern Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Set of eight “Brno” chairs von Ludwig Mies van der Rohe zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 5.896,65) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ludwig Mies van der Rohe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Rare and important early "Barcelona" chair im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 100.800,00 (€ 76.381,00).
