Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Luis Chan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2011. In the 20th Century Chinese Art auction, the work Utopia sold for HKD 137,500.00 (€ 12,698.07) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Luis Chan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Marine Wonderland(Painted in 1978) in October last year with an auction result of HKD 504,000.00 (€ 64,585.46).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Luis Chan erzielte im Oktober 2011 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century Chinese Art wurde die Arbeit Utopia für HKD 137.500,00 (€ 12.698,07) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 60.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Luis Chan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Marine Wonderland(Painted in 1978) im Oktober letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 504.000,00 (€ 64.585,46).
