Artwork auctioned at eight times the upper estimate price
The work Screech Hollow by Lynne Drexler was worth HKD 5,292,000.00 (€ 634,169.38) to a buyer in December last year. This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century Art Day Sale at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 600,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lynne Drexler - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Herbert's Garden, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 1,500,000.00 (€ 1,397,819.40).

Die Arbeit Screech Hollow von Lynne Drexler war einem Käufer im Dezember letzten Jahres HKD 5.292.000,00 (€ 634.169,38) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion 20th Century Art Day Sale bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 600.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Lynne Drexler mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Herbert's Garden beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 1.500.000,00 (€ 1.397.819,40) versteigert wurde.
