This artwork by Macario Vitalis achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in October 2002. In the SOUTHEAST ASIAN PICTURES auction, the work In a restaurant sold for HKD 33,460.00 (€ 4,341.23) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 16,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Macario Vitalis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in November 2018 for HKD 125,000.00 (€ 14,108.45).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Macario Vitalis erzielte im Oktober 2002 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion SOUTHEAST ASIAN PICTURES wurde die Arbeit In a restaurant für HKD 33.460,00 (€ 4.341,23) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 16.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Macario Vitalis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im November 2018 für HKD 125.000,00 (€ 14.108,45) versteigert wurde.
