A top price for Makinti Napanangka
In July 2009 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Aboriginal Art, which included this untitled work by Makinti Napanangka. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 16,800.00 (€ 9,511.52), 68% above the upper estimate. This high result makes the work without title the most expensive artwork by Makinti Napanangka that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Juli 2009 führte Sothebys in Melbourne die Auktion Aboriginal Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Makinti Napanangka zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 16.800,00 (€ 9.511,52) und damit 68% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieses hohe Ergebnis macht das Werk ohne Titel zum teuersten Kunstwerk von Makinti Napanangka, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
