This artwork by Marcel Mariën achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in March last year. In the The Mind's Eye / Surrealist Sale auction, the work Si les sentiments sont invisibles sold for GBP 3,825.00 (€ 4,534.97) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Marcel Mariën have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pompéi, an 79 : grand coït de la dernière nuit in June this year with an auction result of EUR 19,840.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Marcel Mariën erzielte im März letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Mind's Eye / Surrealist Sale wurde die Arbeit Si les sentiments sont invisibles für GBP 3.825,00 (€ 4.534,97) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Marcel Mariën auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pompéi, an 79 : grand coït de la dernière nuit im Juni diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 19.840,00.
