In April 2008 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century Decorative Art & Design, which included the work The Heart of the Rose by Margaret MacDonald Mackintosh. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 490,900.00 (€ 625,828.13), 64% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Margaret MacDonald Mackintosh - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The White Rose and the Red Rose, which sold at auction in April 2008 for GBP 1,700,500.00 (€ 2,167,897.19).

Oberer Schätzpreis um 64 % übertroffen

Im April 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century Decorative Art & Design durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Heart of the Rose von Margaret MacDonald Mackintosh zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 490.900,00 (€ 625.828,13) und damit 64% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Margaret MacDonald Mackintosh mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The White Rose and the Red Rose beobachtet, die im April 2008 für GBP 1.700.500,00 (€ 2.167.897,19) versteigert wurde.
