The work Apricots by Marinus van der Maarel was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in October 2006. It achieved a price of EUR 4,560.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 52 %. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Marinus van der Maarel; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Children playing on the beach sold at auction in April 2007 with the realized price of EUR 6,000.00.

Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 4.560,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 52 %. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Marinus van der Maarel; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Children playing on the beach im April 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 6.000,00.
