Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Senza Titolo by Mario Schifano was auctioned at Christies in Milan in February 2021, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at - in retrospect quite modest - EUR 4,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at EUR 13,750.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mario Schifano achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Stanza Dei Disegni in October last year with an auction result of EUR 1,302,000.00.
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Senza Titolo von Mario Schifano im Februar 2021 bei Christies in Mailand versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – EUR 4.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit EUR 13.750,00 mehr als dreimal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mario Schifano erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La Stanza Dei Disegni im Oktober letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 1.302.000,00.
