The price achieved of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,908.03) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Antonin Mercié have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work French gloria Victis in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 104,500.00 (€ 84,519.57).
