This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Paintings at Christies in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 8,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Domenico di Zanobi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Madonna adoring the Christ Child with the infant Saint John the Baptist, Joseph and the Annunciation to the Shepherds in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 288,000.00 (€ 210,834.55).
