Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a young boy, small full-length, in a blue mantle fastened at his shoulder with a jewel, a canary perched on his left hand, a spaniel at his side, in a landscape by Mattheus Verheyden was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,625.00 (€ 2,330.13) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Mattheus Verheyden have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ein kleiner Prinz in rotem Gewand und mit rotem Federbarett in November 2019 with an auction result of EUR 10,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of a young boy, small full-length, in a blue mantle fastened at his shoulder with a jewel, a canary perched on his left hand, a spaniel at his side, in a landscape von Mattheus Verheyden kam im September 2007 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.625,00 (€ 2.330,13) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mattheus Verheyden auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ein kleiner Prinz in rotem Gewand und mit rotem Federbarett im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 10.000,00.
