This artwork by Maurits Cornelis Escher achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in December 2014. In the Modern Art auction, the work Gallery Of Prints (Prentententoonstelling) (B. 410) sold for EUR 25,000.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maurits Cornelis Escher achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Reptiles (Bool 327) in April last year with an auction result of USD 756,000.00 (€ 717,471.77).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Maurits Cornelis Escher erzielte im Dezember 2014 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern Art wurde die Arbeit Gallery Of Prints (Prentententoonstelling) (B. 410) für EUR 25.000,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Maurits Cornelis Escher erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Reptiles (Bool 327) im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 756.000,00 (€ 717.471,77).
