Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Idylle by Max Volkhart was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 6,875.00 (€ 4,365.63). Admittedly, works by Max Volkhart have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Welcome Interruption in October 2005 with an auction result of USD 48,000.00 (€ 40,016.67).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Idylle von Max Volkhart im Juni 2008 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 6.875,00 (€ 4.365,63) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Max Volkhart auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Welcome Interruption im Oktober 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 48.000,00 (€ 40.016,67).
