This artwork by Meera Mukherjee achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2013. In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction, the work Boatmen sold for USD 43,750.00 (€ 34,137.02) - well above the upper estimate of USD 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by Meera Mukherjee have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Mango Orchard) in March last year with an auction result of USD 226,800.00 (€ 204,453.26).

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Meera Mukherjee erzielte im März 2013 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Boatmen für USD 43.750,00 (€ 34.137,02) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 18.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Meera Mukherjee auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Mango Orchard) im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 226.800,00 (€ 204.453,26).
