A top price for Michael Frederick Halliday - as previously expected
In June 2002 Christies in London held the auction VICTORIAN PICTURES, which included the work Portrait of a Girl, adorned with cowslips, bluebells and a daisy by Michael Frederick Halliday. The price achieved of GBP 9,560.00 (€ 14,787.16) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Portrait of a Girl, adorned with cowslips, bluebells and a daisy is the most expensive artwork by Michael Frederick Halliday that we have observed at auctions so far.
