Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Future jingle by Michael Kvium was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2012, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at - in retrospect quite modest - EUR 6,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at EUR 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michael Kvium - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Flood, which sold at auction in February 2007 for GBP 39,600.00 (€ 58,705.58).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Future jingle von Michael Kvium im September 2012 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – EUR 6.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit EUR 20.000,00 mehr als dreimal so hoch. Für andere Arbeiten von Michael Kvium mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Flood beobachtet, die im Februar 2007 für GBP 39.600,00 (€ 58.705,58) versteigert wurde.
