The work Palescape by Michael Kvium was worth EUR 49,000.00 to a buyer in September 2012. This price was achieved in the auction Property of the Scheringa Museum of Realist Art at Christies in Amsterdam and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of EUR 16,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Michael Kvium; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Flood sold at auction in February 2007 with the realized price of GBP 39,600.00 (€ 58,705.58).
