Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Omphale by Michele Desubleo was sold in the Old Master Paintings auction at Christies in New York in October 2001. It changed hands for a price of USD 28,200.00 (€ 31,357.72) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michele Desubleo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Saint Nicholas with the three school children and a Carthusian monk, which sold at auction in April 2007 for GBP 52,800.00 (€ 77,306.00).

Die Arbeit Omphale von Michele Desubleo wurde im Oktober 2001 in der Auktion Old Master Paintings bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 28.200,00 (€ 31.357,72) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Michele Desubleo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Saint Nicholas with the three school children and a Carthusian monk beobachtet, die im April 2007 für GBP 52.800,00 (€ 77.306,00) versteigert wurde.
