Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Mikhail Nesterov achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2012. In the Important Russian Art auction, the work By The Lake sold for GBP 421,250.00 (€ 524,858.97) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 200,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Mikhail Nesterov; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Winter sold at auction in June 2014 with the realized price of GBP 782,500.00 (€ 977,696.31).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Mikhail Nesterov erzielte im Mai 2012 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Important Russian Art wurde die Arbeit By The Lake für GBP 421.250,00 (€ 524.858,97) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 200.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Mikhail Nesterov; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Winter im Juni 2014 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 782.500,00 (€ 977.696,31).
