Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2015 Christies in New York held the auction An Inquiring Mind: American Collecting of Japanese and Korean Art, which included the work Alone in Dark Bamboo, circa 1795 by Minagawa Kien. It changed hands for a price of USD 2,750.00 (€ 2,463.72) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Other works by Minagawa Kien have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in October 2001 the work Landscape and poem was auctioned for USD 2,820.00 (€ 3,135.77).

Im April 2015 führte Christies in New York die Auktion An Inquiring Mind: American Collecting of Japanese and Korean Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Alone in Dark Bamboo, circa 1795 von Minagawa Kien zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 2.750,00 (€ 2.463,72) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Minagawa Kien konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Oktober 2001 die Arbeit Landscape and poem für USD 2.820,00 (€ 3.135,77) versteigert.
