Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Khorfakkan 2 by Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim was auctioned at Sothebys in Dubai in June 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,347.43). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work My Garden's Details, which sold at auction in May this year for USD 35,280.00 (€ 33,114.32).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Khorfakkan 2 von Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim im Juni 2020 bei Sothebys in Dubai versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 9.375,00 (€ 8.347,43) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit My Garden's Details beobachtet, die im Mai diesen Jahres für USD 35.280,00 (€ 33.114,32) versteigert wurde.
