Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2021 Artcurial in Paris held the auction African Modern Art, which included the work Oiseaux Et Antilopes, 1958 by Mwila. The price achieved of EUR 3,250.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 2,500.00 – 4,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mwila - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sans Titre (Sept Oiseaux Jaunes), 1963, which sold at auction in November 2021 for EUR 6,760.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2021 führte Artcurial in Paris die Auktion African Modern Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Oiseaux Et Antilopes, 1958 von Mwila zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 3.250,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 2.500,00 – 4.500,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Mwila mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sans Titre (Sept Oiseaux Jaunes), 1963 beobachtet, die im November 2021 für EUR 6.760,00 versteigert wurde.
