Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2018 Christies in London held the auction British Art: Victorian, Pre Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, which included the work Turnberry Castle, Ayrshire, Scotland by Myles Birket Foster. The price achieved of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,051.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Myles Birket Foster achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Meet in November 2001 with an auction result of GBP 240,250.00 (€ 382,313.43).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2018 führte Christies in London die Auktion British Art: Victorian, Pre Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Turnberry Castle, Ayrshire, Scotland von Myles Birket Foster zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 9.051,97) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Myles Birket Foster erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Meet im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 240.250,00 (€ 382.313,43).
