Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Seated Woman with Blue Garment by Nalini Malani was sold in the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. The price achieved of USD 4,410.00 (€ 3,755.43) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nalini Malani achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Manipulating Reality in September 2010 with an auction result of USD 122,500.00 (€ 90,066.91).
